NANCY HOLLINGHURST (b. 1978) was born in Atlanta, GA. She earned a BFA in Illustration from the School of Visual Arts and her MFA at the New York Academy of Art. Her work draws inspiration from historical art traditions while adding contemporary twists, often featuring vintage objects in dreamlike settings that invite viewers to see everyday things in new ways.
Hollinghurst's artistic journey includes some meaningful opportunities and patronages, such as a 4-month "Artist's Grand Tour" of Europe, the Prince of Wales/Forbes Foundation painting fellowship, and a Fellowship from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts.
Her work has been featured in various group exhibitions throughout the United States, including the 2017 Women Painting Women traveling museum exhibition. Her work has been featured in New American Paintings, Create Magazine, and International Artist Magazine.
Hollinghurst currently lives and works in Hoboken, NJ.
