Cluley Projects is excited to announce their 5th annual open call for exhibition proposals in preparation for its 2026 season. The mission of Cluley Projects is to offer diverse programming, foster community, and uplift emerging artists. With these values in mind, our annual open call process has established an enriching opportunity for Texas-based creatives. This year will be the 5th iteration of the open call since it was established in 2021: previous recipients include Leili Arai Tavallaei, Sarita Westrup, Jacquelin Zazueta, and Zak Ziebell.


Program Details:  
The winning proposal will receive a month-long slot in the summer 2026 exhibition schedule, an honorarium of $500, professional photographic documentation of the show, and mentorship as needed.


Recipient to Receive:  
•    Honorarium: $500 for exhibiton support.
•    Mentorship: One-on-one guidance to develop your artistic practice and learn more about contemporary art gallery practices.
•    Exhibition Opportunity: Your work will be the subject of a solo exhibition at Erin Cluley Gallery during their 2026 exhibition season.


Eligibility:  
To be eligible, artists must meet the following criteria:  
 
•    Be at least 18 years old and currently residing in Texas, and without gallery representation
•    Artists must not be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program unless expected to finish by the end of the         Spring 2026 semester.
•    All mediums are welcome including, but not imited to, visual, installation, and performance art.
•    Proposals for solo or collective exhibitions are accepted.
•    Applicants associated with Erin Cluley Gallery are ineligible to apply. 


How to Apply:  
Please submit the following materials via the submission portal:  

1.   5 - 10 samples of your work along with title and description (year, media, dimensions.) Accepted formats include jpeg, jpg, png, pdf, mp3, and mp4.
2.   Artist Information (name, website, or instagram (optional), and location in Texas)
4.   Artist Statement (max 500 words)
5.   Bio (max 500 words)
6.   CV (optional, but encouraged)
7.   Exhibition Proposal (optional - pdf))
8.  Confirmation of eligibility


Deadline for Submissions:  
Applications must be submitted by 11:59 PM CST on November 2, 2026. Late or incomplete applications will not be reviewed. Submissions by email, hand, or mail will not be accepted. There is no fee to apply.


Selection Process:  
Applications will be reviewed by Erin Cluley Gallery staff. Finalists will be notified by December of 2025. Please refrain from inquiring about your application status during the selection period—all applicants will be notified by this date.
