BORN IN BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA. LIVES AND WORKS IN NEW OAXACA, MEXICO.

Magdalena Rantica (b. 1973) was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She lives and works in Oaxaca, Mexico. Rantica studied Fine Art at the Universidad Nacional de las Artes in Buenos Aires, Argentina and Theatrical Characterization at the Teatro Colón Art Institute. 

Rantica’s work has been exhibited internationally including at Agavero Art Space in Mexico; Manuel García Contemporary Art Gallery in Oaxaca, Mexico; MUPO Museum of Oaxacan Painters in Oaxaca, Mexico; The Argentinean Embassy in Mexico; The Museum of Modern Art of Buenos Aires (MAMBA) in Buenos Aires, AR and the Center of Culture of Pisa in Pisa, Italy. In 2021, she received a Special Mention from the Jury in Drawing at the 109th edition of the National Salon of Visual Arts at the Casa del Bicentario in Argentina. In 2018, Rantica was the recipient of a Creation Grant from the National Endowment for the Arts in Argentina. 

Her work has been featured in Marvin Magazine (Mexico City, Mexico), Hoornik Collection Art Magazine, BLUR Magazine and Mora, the Journal of the Interdisciplinary Institute for Gender Studies at the University of Buenos Aires, as well as other publications.
